ISLAMABAD: Renowned nuclear scientist and member of the Planning Commission, Dr Samar Mubarakmand told the Supreme Court (SC) today that the foreign company wanted to take the raw copper and gold from the Reko Diq reserves out of the country.
The country has the expertise to explore and refine copper and gold, he added. A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the case.
The scientist pointed out that the copper reserves were only 0.02 and very difficult to refine but we have the expertise to process it.
